Pramono Launches Revitalization of Healthy Canteen in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung launched the Healthy Canteen Revitalization program at three schools namely SMKN 57 Jakarta, SMKN 63 Jakarta, and SMAN MH Thamrin. The launching was held at SMKN 57 South Jakarta, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20).

This program aims to revitalize school canteens in Jakarta to be better at providing healthy food for students.

"Thanks God the program can be launched today," Pramono said.

Healthy School Canteen to Support Free Nutritious Meal Program in Jakarta

Pramono added that the canteen facilities are already good and able to meet the needs of students with their daily pocket money ranging from Rp 15,000 to Rp 20,000. In fact, he realized that not all schools have the same facilities.

He has instructed Jakarta Education Agency Head to revitalize other school canteens. It is aimed to avoid students buying food outside the school.

Pramono hopes this revitalization program can give benefits for students especially increasing education quality in Jakarta.

"This is one of our programs to be improved. It is hoped the improved healthy canteens will give benefit for education in Jakarta," Pramono added.

Jakarta Education Agency Head, Nahdiana stated that this healthy canteen revitalization could be followed by other schools, especially schools with limited facilities.

"Other school canteens will also be developed too," she stated.

Meanwhile, Jakarta City Council Vice Chairman, Wibi Andrino, who was also attending the launching, appreciated the program. He hopes that this program can meet the nutritional needs of students which will have an impact on improving the quality of human resources of the younger generation.

"I hope this program will run smoothly since the target is fulfilling our students' nutritional needs through healthy food. With the quality of food, hopefully we can get good and healthy leader for better Jakarta future," he said.
